I've been thinking a lot about the role of community organizations like Better Family Life and the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis in situations like Tysean Gilmore's tragic death. These groups seem to be doing vital work by focusing on prevention and support in a community that clearly needs it. It’s devastating to see yet another young life taken too soon because of gun violence. These organizations are stepping in to make positive changes and to help those left behind cope with their grief and loss. It must feel so overwhelming for Tysean’s family right now, and knowing there’s community support might offer them some solace in this difficult time. Does anyone know more about what specific initiatives or programs they have to help those affected by violence in East St. Louis? I'm interested in learning how they’re addressing the root causes and helping to prevent future tragedies.
