The news about Javier Ramos' murder really hit hard for many in our community. As someone who frequently rideshares, I can't help but think about how vulnerable drivers are when they're just trying to earn a living. Ramos was doing the best he could for his 9-year-old daughter, and losing him like this feels deeply unjust. One thing that stands out to me is that he had previously survived a brain aneurysm, showing how tough he was, only to be lost to senseless violence. I find myself thinking about how resilient he must have been and how devastating this situation is for his daughter and family. Hopefully, the collaboration between law enforcement agencies to charge Edmond Harris sends a strong message against such violent acts. This case is a reminder of how real the dangers are, especially in certain neighborhoods, and how we need to continue pressing for stronger measures to protect those in vulnerable jobs. My thoughts are with Ramos' family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.
