I'm deeply saddened to hear about Derrick Metcalf's tragic death. It's incredibly unsettling to know that more than two years later, we still don't have concrete answers or suspects linked directly to his murder. I've been following cases in the Armour Square area, and it always hits hard when such violence disrupts our communities.
One thing that keeps coming to mind is the time of day when Derrick was found. Just after 6 a.m. is when the streets start to wake up, and to think that something so violent happened at a time when people are getting ready for their day is quite chilling. How did no one see or hear anything? I hope anyone who might know something, even if it seems small or insignificant, finds the courage to come forward. Sometimes it is the little pieces of information that can make all the difference in solving these cases.

So I've been following the case of Derrick Metcalf and wanted to share something that's been on my mind regarding the neighborhood cameras in the Armour Square area. With the incident happening early in the morning, it's possible that one or more nearby surveillance cameras might have captured something useful. Does anyone know if any footage has been discussed publicly or if local businesses/residents were approached for their camera recordings?
It's hard to imagine the pain Derrick's family and friends are enduring right now, and every piece of evidence could be crucial in bringing them the answers they deserve. It's infuriating that the case hasn't moved forward, especially since there have been arrests related to the attempted robbery of a CPD employee close to that time. Could there be a link that investigators are missing, or is there not enough evidence yet from those arrests to tie them directly to Derrick's murder?
Just hoping there'll be some progress soon and that justice will prevail for Derrick and his loved ones.

I know cases can take a long time to solve, but it’s so important for the community and especially for Derrick’s loved ones to see some movement towards justice. I sincerely hope that people continue to come forward with any information they might have, no matter how small it seems. Derrick's life was taken in such a cruel manner, and his story deserves attention. My thoughts go out to those who are mourning him.
