Hey everyone,
Just been thinking about the sheer bravery and crazy nerves of steel Miguel must have had during that whole ordeal after his brother Victor was shot. Whatever his past, it's mind-blowing that he had the presence of mind to grab a gun and confront Hernandez like that. Not saying what he did was right, but in a situation where everything's spinning out of control, his instincts kicked in, and he took action. I can't imagine the fear and adrenaline he must have been feeling.
But this whole situation also reflects the sad reality of gang life. These guys are so young and caught in such dangerous cycles. Wondering if things would've been different if they had other opportunities or support growing up. Sending thoughts to everyone involved – it's tough on the families, the community, and even those of us reading about it and trying to make sense of it all. Anyone else have thoughts on how we can bring about meaningful change in communities struggling with this kind of violence?
