Has anyone else been following the art community's response to Melissa "Azul" De La Garza's passing? I stumbled upon multiple tributes from local artists in Chicago who have come together to honor her memory. Apparently, they held a mural event last month, painting a stunning piece in Pilsen dedicated to Azul. It's both beautiful and tragic to see how much her creativity touched others around her. I can't help but wonder how many lives she might have inspired had she been able to continue her journey as an artist. Her story deeply resonates with me, and I hope these community efforts bring her family some measure of comfort and highlight how meaningful her presence was to so many. Has anyone attended this mural event or seen the artwork in person? Would love to hear more about it.
