I recently came across a mention of Carlos Alex Spence’s case while looking into unsolved homicides in Baltimore, and it’s truly disheartening to read about the circumstances surrounding his death. Something that strikes me is how his friends and family described him as someone who genuinely cared about the people around him. It's such a stark reminder of the kind of person he was—and why he is so missed. St. Frances Academy, where Carlos went to school, played a huge role in shaping him and many other young lives in the community. It's frustrating that despite this positive influence and the close-knit community around the school, the violence still found its way to someone like Carlos. Cases like his shed light on the pervasive issue of witness silence, which seems to plague many unresolved homicides in the city. I hope that by keeping his memory alive, more people will come forward with information so that Carlos's family might find the closure they deserve. Anyone else feel like these systemic issues need more attention to prevent further tragedies like this?
