I came across a detail in Anthony Whitehead’s case that’s really been gnawing at me. It's the lack of street cameras or surveillance footage in the area where the crime happened. In a city like Chicago, with so many businesses and residential areas, you’d think there’d be more eyes on the streets, especially in neighborhoods plagued by violence. This makes me wonder if this gap is making it harder for investigators to piece together what happened to Anthony. We all know the value of even a small piece of footage – it can be a game-changer in investigations. It's tragic to think that something as simple as more surveillance could either deter these crimes or at least aid in solving them. My heart truly goes out to Anthony's family and the South Shore community dealing with these ongoing safety concerns. It’s a sobering reality that hopefully pushes for change in neighborhood safety measures. Let's hope more attention is given to this aspect so that other families don’t have to endure the same pain of unanswered questions.
