Hey everyone. I read about the tragedy involving Sheridan Freeman, and it's tough to wrap my head around it. It's incredibly sad that someone so young, with such big dreams, had his life cut short. I can only imagine what his family is going through, especially his mother, Diane. Losing a child is something no parent should have to face, and you can really feel the loss when she describes him as fun-loving and talented. What stood out to me was that Sheridan was frequently filming his brother's rapping. It seems like he was deeply immersed in his creative passions and dedicated to his family. I wonder what kind of role his brother's music played in his life and how those videos are now cherished memories of him doing what he loved. It's alarming how much the violence has increased in neighborhoods like West Pullman despite efforts to make changes. Mayor Lightfoot’s plans sound promising, but the progress seems painfully slow. Is there more that the community can do to protect talented young people like Sheridan? It’s crucial for neighborhoods to band together to create safe havens so no more families have to endure this kind of pain. My thoughts are with Sheridan's family and friends right now. They deserve justice and peace.
