Hey everyone, I just wanted to share some thoughts about the sad loss of James Sweezer. It's truly devastating to see such young lives being cut short, and my heart goes out to his family and friends. I’ve been following the case and something that’s been on my mind is the impact this might have on other kids in the community. Englewood has seen its share of struggle with violence, but when incidents like these happen, it must be incredibly frightening for young people who just want to feel safe in their own neighborhoods. It's tough to think about the trauma that witnesses, especially other teenagers, might be experiencing after witnessing such violence. I really hope there are community resources available to help them cope and process everything. Losing a friend or classmate is unimaginable, and it leaves a void that no one should have to bear at such a young age. If anyone has any ideas on how communities can come together to support these young people, maybe we can share some thoughts here. It feels like something positive, no matter how small, needs to come out of this tragic event.
