Were they drinking and this became a result of misadventure or was this more sinister? Did they have anyone that wanted these guys gone? There are so many unanswered questions.

Hey everyone, I've been following the Everett Hawley and Clarence Owens case for a while now, and the recent find of their remains has brought it back into focus. One thing that puzzles me is the timeline of their last day. They attended a political rally in Pecatonica and then went to several places before vanishing.
