I came across this case, and one aspect that’s been weighing on my mind is the debate surrounding the juvenile justice system. I can’t wrap my head around how someone with Anthony Brown's history could be on electronic monitoring. The system's goal should be balancing safety and rehabilitation, but in this instance, it seemed out of balance. Michael Brown's loss is a tragic reminder of how these decisions have real consequences. It’s such a devastating blow to his family, friends, and the community. How do we come together and advocate for both reform and support systems that could prevent young people from heading down such a destructive path? It feels like we need a deeper community dialogue about this. My thoughts are with all who knew and loved Michael.
