I’ve been following the case closely, and I just wanted to take a moment to talk about how incredible it is that Dejuan and Joseph were both so dedicated to helping others. Dejuan’s work at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center shows what kind of person he was—always giving back and supporting those transitioning from military to civilian life. He probably made a real difference in the lives of many veterans. And Joseph as a gym teacher! You can only imagine the positive impact he had on the kids he taught at Holy Family Catholic School. A lot of those kids are probably going through a difficult time right now understanding why someone they looked up to is suddenly gone. It really tugs at the heart to think of all the good these two men contributed, only to have their lives senselessly taken by gun violence. I hope the community can come together to help find some answers for their families. They deserve to know why they lost two such important men. Let’s all keep them in our thoughts and hope for some progress soon.
