Has anyone else been following the tragic case of Robert Lee Hollie? It's so tough to hear about these things happening, especially when it hits so close to home. I read that his aunt, Lydia Hollie, was really active in trying to prevent youth and gang violence in the community. It’s such a cruel twist of fate that her own family would be touched by the very violence she was fighting against. Does anyone know more about what the police are doing to get witnesses to come forward? I’ve read that getting people to talk in these cases is always a struggle, but is there anything specific being done to build trust with the community? I really hope they find the answers soon, not just for Robert’s family, but also for everyone trying hard to make Long Beach a safer place.

Hey everyone, I keep thinking about the connection between Robert Lee Hollie's death and his aunt Lydia Hollie's work with the Youth & Gang Violence Prevention Task Force. It's so difficult to digest how someone with ties to efforts aimed at reducing violence could fall victim to it so tragically. Does anyone else find themselves wondering if there had been any recent developments or initiatives by the Task Force around that time? I wonder if Robert had any involvement or if his family had talked about trying to steer him towards the prevention work his aunt was so passionate about. It's sad to think someone so closely linked to these efforts was lost in such a horrific manner. No family should have to go through this. I hope they find peace and the authorities get the cooperation they need to bring justice for Robert. Sending thoughts to the Hollie family and the community. -Rachel
