Has anyone else been digging into Gary Wallace Gutierrez's case? I've been reading about his disappearance in Wenatchee, Washington, and something that really stands out to me is how he was such an avid backpacker. It's not entirely clear whether he was planning on doing any backpacking trips around that time, but given his interest, I wouldn't be surprised if he wanted to take advantage of some trails out there before moving to Maine. What I find curious is that, despite his plans and love for backpacking, there doesn't seem to be any evidence that he bought new gear or supplies shortly before he vanished. It makes me wonder if whatever happened was completely unforeseen—either an accident or something more sinister. But could it also mean that he did end up going on a planned hike without anyone knowing? If anyone has come across local hiking reports from around that time or knows the Wenatchee trails and conditions back then, it would be fascinating to hear more. Maybe there's something in those old trails that could shed light on his disappearance.

Has anyone else looked into the environmental factors in Wenatchee around the time Gary Gutierrez disappeared? I know 1979 was a long time ago, but I've been digging into old weather reports and noticed that there was an unusual amount of rain that summer. Could this have affected the search efforts in any way or obscured potential evidence? Maybe if he went on a hiking trip, the weather might have also been a factor he underestimated. It's just something that might be worth considering since there’s so little to go on in this case. If anyone has access to old records or knowledge about hiking conditions in the area during that time, it might provide some insights.
