I've been following Kristin Carr's case, and my heart goes out to her family, especially her son Dante, who has gone through unimaginable trauma. It's beyond cruel that he had to witness such violence and then find the courage to call for help. I can't even imagine how he must be feeling right now, trying to process losing his mother in such a tragic way. I recently read that the community hosted a candlelight vigil in honor of Kristin. It seems the community wants to show her family they aren’t alone. It's touching to see neighbors and friends come together like this—but it also serves as a stark reminder of how many families in Chicago face similar tragedies. Events like these shouldn't have to happen to garner attention for change. For those who might know more about the area, is the Jeffery Manor neighborhood known for having difficulties with violence? It’s important to understand the context as we discuss ways to support safer communities. I really hope the investigators are able to find new leads and bring justice for Kristin and her family soon.
