Has anyone else looked into the community's response around Officer Jenkins’ tragic death? I stumbled upon some old newspaper articles and community archives, and it seems like the town of Meigs truly came together during such a painful time. There were candlelight vigils, and residents wore black ribbons to honor his memory. The support for his family and for the department seemed to pour in from all corners. It’s moments like these that remind us how, despite the darkness of such events, communities can still unite to uplift one another. If anyone has more info or remembers that time, I’d love to discuss further. He may have only served for two months, but his impact was clearly profound. Sending prayers and thoughts to those still affected by this tragedy.
