I can't stop thinking about how incredibly brave Mary Sawyer must have been to survive such a terrifying ordeal. Not only did she have to witness the unimaginable trauma of losing her husband in such a violent way, but she also had the presence of mind to pretend she was dead to save her own life. I can't imagine the strength it took to free herself and seek help after everything. My heart goes out to her and her family for the immense loss they suffered and the long road to healing that must have followed. It's a grim reminder of how one cruel act can forever change the lives of those it touches. Mary’s courage is truly inspiring, and I hope she found some peace despite the horror she endured.

I stumbled across something I hadn't given much thought to before. Imagine the sheer terror that Mary Sawyer must have felt during the ordeal and the strength it must have taken to play dead after witnessing J. C.'s murder. Being bound and gagged, facing such a horrifying situation, and still having the presence of mind to ensure her own survival is truly remarkable. It’s so important to honor survivors like Mary who, through their unimaginable trauma, found the courage to seek justice. If anyone has more insights into how Mary managed to cope in the aftermath or the kind of support she received, I'd really like to hear about it. It must have been such a long and painful journey towards healing.
