I've been reading about Curtis Lee Brown's case and my heart goes out to his loved ones. One aspect that haunts me is how it took four long days for Curtis to be identified. It makes me wonder about the systems in place back then for missing persons and how overwhelming it must have been for his girlfriend during that agonizing wait. Were there not enough resources to expedite these processes, or were cases involving marginalized individuals given less priority? It’s infuriating to think about how overworked detectives were and how this might have delayed justice for Curtis and others like him. This time period in Atlanta seems rife with cases that were underreported or overlooked. I'm hoping the increased attention on cold cases today brings some solace to those still waiting for answers.
