I've been revisiting the tragic case of Officer Clois W. Lamb, and something that stands out to me is the impact it had on the Columbus law enforcement community. It's hard to imagine the shock and sorrow his colleagues must have felt that day, right in their own station where they should've felt safe. The ripple effects of losing a colleague in such a senseless way seem unimaginable. It's clear this incident pushed the police department to tighten their security protocols, but it breaks my heart that it took such a devastating loss to prompt changes. Officer Lamb's service, both in Vietnam and in the police department, speaks volumes about his dedication and courage. My thoughts are with his family and those who continue to work in law enforcement, striving to keep their communities safe while remembering those they've lost.
