Hello everyone,
I’ve been digging into the John C. Collins case, and I'm struck by how much time has passed since that tragic night. Reflecting on his story makes me think about all the dreams and potential that were senselessly taken from him. As a fellow college student, I feel a connection to John—it’s unsettling to think that this could happen to any one of us working our way through school.
It's comforting to know that justice was ultimately served, but my heart goes out to John’s family and friends, who’ve had to endure all these years without him. It’s such a painful reminder of how fragile life can be. I’m hopeful that we can keep sharing and remembering his story to honor his memory and the bright future he never had the chance to realize.
Would love to hear others’ thoughts or reflections on this. How do we, as a community, support those who have experienced such losses?
Stay safe,

Has anyone else thought about what a terrifying situation it must have been for John Collins that night at the Domino's? I've been thinking about how he was just doing his job, probably planning his next day at college or thinking about what life would be like after graduation. It's chilling to think that someone could just come in and take all of those future moments away from him so senselessly.
I can't help but feel for his family and friends who must have expected him to finish his shift and be back to his usual routine. Instead, they got that devastating call. It’s a reminder of how precious life is and how we often take our everyday safety for granted. Just hoping that focusing more on these moments can bring a little more awareness and hopefully prevent such tragedies in the future. Does anyone know if there are any memorials or scholarships set up in his memory by the college or community? It'd be nice to see something positive come from such a tragic event.
Has anyone else looked into the details about John C. Collins's personal life? I was really struck by the fact that he was working as a night manager while attending college. It sounds like he was incredibly hardworking and determined to balance his education with his job responsibilities. It's so tragic that his life was cut short in such a senseless way. Just thinking about all the possibilities that were ahead of him, both academically and professionally, is deeply upsetting. It reminds me of how fragile life can be and how quickly things can change due to someone else's actions. Sending my warmest thoughts to his family and those who were close to him.
