I’ve been thinking a lot about how Jamal’s story is another example of the broader issues in Baltimore during that time. It's so tragic to see another young life lost, and I'm sure his family is still hurting deeply. I wonder, did Jamal have any involvement in community activities or programs? Sometimes, highlighting those aspects can bring a more humanizing perspective amid all the crime statistics. It's just so frustrating knowing that cases like his often fade into the background due to the sheer volume of violence. If only there were more resources dedicated to helping the young folks in these neighborhoods before things spiral out of control. My heart truly goes out to those who knew and loved him. Let's hope for some justice and peace for Jamal and others like him.
