It's been a few years since we lost Deputy Paugh, but I often think about the immense bravery he showed that night. What really gets to me is how something as simple as stopping to help someone in need could turn into such a tragic situation. It’s a chilling reminder of the unpredictability officers like JD face every day. I've heard from some locals that the JD Paugh Memorial Interchange serves not just as a tribute, but as a reminder of the sacrifice our law enforcement officers make. Does anyone know if there have been additional memorials or events held in his honor over the years? It's important we continue to support the community and his family, and ensure his dedication and heroism are never forgotten.
