I’ve been following the Dermond case for a while, and one thing that always stands out to me is the possibility that the entry was made by boat. Given the proximity to Lake Oconee, it seems plausible that someone could have approached their property without being seen from the main road. It's unsettling to think about how much planning must have gone into this. I can’t even begin to imagine the horror and fear Russell and Shirley must have faced. They were surrounded by what should have been the safety of their home, yet someone managed to breach that through unconventional means. It's also frustrating that despite the advances in forensics, we still don’t have answers on whose DNA was found. I truly hope the day comes when the community gets the closure it desperately needs, and most importantly, justice for the Dermonds. Until then, I’ll be keeping their story alive in any way I can.
