I’ve been following the tragic case of Javarius "Lil V" Walthour, and it’s left me with such a heavy heart thinking about his family and friends. I can’t imagine what his parents, Irene and Alvin, are going through, especially with the trial ending the way it did. It’s disheartening to see another promising life cut short, someone who was really trying to make something of himself by furthering his education and planning to serve in the military. The court’s decision has left me with so many questions about how self-defense laws are applied and interpreted. Were there any aspects of the case that weren't fully explored in the trial? I just hope Lil V’s family finds some semblance of peace and that his story prompts a closer look at how similar cases are handled in the future.
