I've been following the case of Garry Bernard Mells and the others who tragically lost their lives back in 2015. It's been paused for so many years that it seemed like justice might never come. I’m particularly interested in the role of the Savannah Police Department and how the Major Crimes Unit managed to bring new life to this cold case. It must have been so difficult for Garry's family and friends, not knowing what happened for so long. It seems the road to justice can be long, but I truly hope the re-investigation brought some hope to those who cared for him. If anyone has more insights into how these cold case units operate, I’d love to hear it. It's just remarkable how they managed to make these arrests years later. My thoughts are with the families who finally got some answers.
