I’ve been following JJ Montgomery’s case, and something about his role in the whole tragic situation really sticks with me. Here’s a guy who was just trying to do the right thing and calm the situation down. Imagine the bravery it takes to step in and encourage your friends to walk away from potential conflict. It breaks my heart that this act of wanting peace ended in such a senseless loss. JJ seemed like a genuinely good person, and his father's work as a pastor must’ve been such a strong influence in his life. My thoughts are with JJ's family and friends, especially his father, Johnny Montgomery. I can't imagine the pain they’re going through. It’s gut-wrenching to think about the racial undercurrents in this case as well. Just tragic all around.
