I can't stop thinking about little Waylon Dennington and how senseless it all feels. My heart goes out to his family as they try to come to terms with such an unimaginable loss. What puzzles me is how there aren't clearer guidelines in Georgia to prevent these things from happening. I mean, shouldn't there be some sort of mandate about securing firearms when children are in the home? It makes you wonder what conversations are happening (or not happening) at the legislative level. I really hope what happened to Waylon can be a wake-up call for change—not just for his sake, but to save other families from experiencing the same devastation. Has anyone seen if there's been any movement towards passing new laws since this incident?
