I’ve been following the tragic case of Claudette Noremia Duclos, and what stands out to me amidst all this tragedy is the serious dangers of stalking and harassment before things escalate to violence. It's devastating to think that warning signs were already present and still, it culminated in such a horrific act. The charges pending against Tia Dos Santos for stalking and harassment paint a picture of someone who clearly should have been more tightly monitored and potentially helped to prevent this from happening. I can’t imagine the pain and frustration Claudette’s family must be feeling, knowing that this could have perhaps been avoided had there been more intervention earlier. My thoughts are with them as they navigate through this nightmare. Has anyone else come across similar cases where early intervention could have made a huge difference? It’s important we keep discussing these failures to improve our systems.
