I've been following Marvin Kelly's case for a while, and my heart goes out to his family and friends who are still seeking justice. I can't help but feel frustrated when I think about how the lack of cooperation and fear of retaliation has hindered the investigation. It's understandable why people might be scared, given the circumstances, but it makes me wonder what could be done to make witnesses feel safer about coming forward. Has anyone heard about any successful initiatives or programs in Baltimore or elsewhere that have managed to improve community-police relations or protect witness identities more effectively? It's such a daunting task, but something needs to change to prevent more young lives from being lost.
