I’ve been following the Gregory Cooke case and one thing that still stands out to me is the impact on the Richmond County Sheriff's Office and the community. Losing a deputy in such a shocking way has to be devastating for the department. Cooke's colleagues described him as dedicated and well-liked, and I can only imagine how hard it must have been to continue their work amidst their grief. It's tragic to lose someone while they were off-duty, trying to handle a personal situation. The community's response to his death shows just how much he meant to them. Is there anyone from the Augusta area who can share more about how the community has been doing since this incident?
