I've been following Antrell Hicks-Davis's case, and I can't stop thinking about how his youngest daughter was at the motel when the tragedy unfolded. It's so distressing that such a young child was caught in the middle of something so awful. I can’t even begin to imagine what the little one must have felt or understood in those moments. Being there on Father’s Day, expecting to reunite with her dad, and then witnessing something so traumatic is beyond tragic. I hope that she and her sisters get the support they need to process this loss and that they grow up knowing how deeply their father cared for them. Sending love and strength to the Hicks-Davis family as they navigate through this painful time.

I’ve been following the tragic case of Antrell Hicks-Davis, and my heart truly goes out to his family, especially his young daughters. I can't even imagine the trauma of being at such a young age and present during that brutal moment. They were supposed to be celebrating Father’s Day with their dad, and instead, their worlds have been turned upside down. Something I've been reflecting on is the impact this will have on those children long-term. It’s one thing to grow up without a parent due to natural causes, but having to carry the knowledge of how you lost a parent so violently—it changes everything. I hope the community rallies around these little girls to provide them with the love and support they’ll need moving forward. Also, I’ve read that there was a candlelight vigil held by Antrell’s family. It’s heartening to see the community coming together to honor his memory and show solidarity with his loved ones. It’s a small comfort, but knowing that people are out there trying to support the family in their grief is incredibly important. I just hope justice is served, not only for Antrell but for everyone who’s had their loved one stolen in such a senseless manner.
