Hey everyone, I was revisiting old cases and stumbled upon Roberto Mercado Sylva's disappearance from '96. Something that's been gnawing at me is the lack of media attention this case has gotten over the years. I mean, with today's technology and social media, we see so many cold cases getting fresh eyes, but it's like Sylva's case just faded into the background. Does anyone know if the family or authorities ever tried to leverage platforms like Facebook or Twitter to reignite interest? It feels like someone out there might have a piece of the puzzle if only they knew he was missing. Thoughts on how smaller cases can get more visibility?
Has anyone else looked into Roberto Mercado Sylva's dental records from before he went missing? I noticed in some cases, comparing dental records has helped confirm sightings or identify remains. Sylva had a missing middle upper tooth, which could be a pretty unique identifier. I’m curious if law enforcement has ever publicly discussed this aspect or used it in their searches. If anyone has more info on this angle or knows if it was ever considered, please share!
