I recently came across the case of Malcolm Quarterman and I just can't stop thinking about how something as simple as a basketball game could spiral into such a tragedy. The fact that it all started over a game really hits home about how fragile life can be and how quickly things can escalate. It’s heartbreaking to think about Malcolm’s family and how they’ve had to deal with this sudden loss. Losing someone so young, with so much ahead of them, is unimaginable. I've been following the details about Tyedon Burton’s trial, and it’s puzzling how the jury reached its decision. I understand the concept of self-defense, but it's hard not to think about the potential bias that might come into play in these situations, especially when the victim and accused are both African American males. The footage used in court apparently didn’t have sound, so I wonder if that left any unanswered questions for the jury. The park still doesn't feel any safer, knowing that an incident like this occurred there. It’s a reminder of the importance of community efforts to ensure public spaces are peaceful and secure. Has anyone else been there since it happened, and does it still have that same feeling? Please, take care of yourselves.
