I was recently reading about LaShay Ford's case again, and I found myself thinking about those three suspects, especially Herk James Ellis, who’s still out there. It’s terrifying to think someone considered "armed and dangerous" is lingering around the communities in Georgia, Alabama, and even New York. I honestly can’t fathom the ongoing fear that this may cause for people who might inadvertently cross paths with him. What’s also been sticking with me is how Laquanda Brown seems to hold onto some level of love or compassion for her cousin Dewayne despite everything that happened. It feels so rare to see that kind of strength and emotional complexity in the aftermath of such a horrific incident. I hope that sharing more of these stories can somehow bring urgency and lead to more eyes and ears out there in the search for Ellis. If anyone knows anything, even the smallest detail could help the case and finally start bringing some sense of security back to those communities. Be safe, everyone. ?
