Hey everyone,
I've been thinking a lot about Samuel "Jr." Pinkney III and the impact his loss has undoubtedly had on his local community in Baltimore. It's really tough knowing how many lives were affected by violence in the city during 2011—especially for someone so young who clearly had so much love for his hometown sports teams. It's a real testament to how connected he was to his community, bonding over the Ravens and the Yankees.
I wonder how the local community responded at the time. Were there vigils or community meetings to address the violence? It seems like these kinds of community gatherings might offer some solace or at least a space for people to come together in shared grief and resolve. If anyone knows more about community efforts around that time or has any recollections from then, I'd love to hear about it.
Sending thoughts to Samuel's family and friends who still cherish his memory. It’s so important to keep discussing these losses to find paths towards safer communities. Stay strong, everyone.
