Does anyone else find it unsettling how often we hear about officers not having their body cameras on in critical moments? Oscar Cain Jr.'s case really highlights this issue. It’s frustrating and honestly baffling how an advocate for police accountability couldn't receive the justice he was fighting for. Especially since he played such an important role in pushing for these cams in the first place. I can't imagine what his family is going through, knowing there could’ve been footage providing more clarity on that tragic night. Why aren't there stricter protocols to prevent cameras from conveniently being off when they’re needed the most? Something needs to change. Thoughts?

Reading the details of Oscar Bernard Cain Jr.'s tragic death is immensely upsetting. One thing that sticks out to me is how someone like Oscar, who actively pushed for police reform and accountability, especially the use of body cameras, happens to be involved in such an incident where the offending officer's body cam mysteriously wasn't switched on. This highlighted the very issue Oscar dedicated much of his life to addressing. His commitment to making the community safer and more transparent seems particularly poignant given these circumstances. It’s a deeply frustrating irony, and my heart goes out to Oscar’s family and friends who are left to grapple with so many unanswered questions. The need for clarity and justice feels more crucial than ever. What do you all think could be done to ensure this doesn’t happen again? How do we honor his efforts moving forward?
