This case about Jessica Daniels is just so terribly sad and so close to home, literally. I've been thinking a lot about community safety after hearing about what happened to Jessica. She was just asleep in her own bed—where we all expect to feel the safest. It makes you wonder how many other families live with the fear of stray bullets hitting their homes.
I've lived in Atlanta for most of my life, and over the years, I've seen neighborhoods change, sometimes for the better, and sometimes not. The fact that someone's careless and reckless actions deprived such a young life of her future is beyond frustrating. This kind of violence impacts every single person in the community, and we can't just stand by and do nothing.
I really hope that more awareness of the issues will push people to come forward. It’s about time the community rallies together, not only to find justice for Jessica but to prevent such tragedies in the future. Anyone with info, please speak up for the sake of Jessica's family and for the safety of all our neighborhoods. Let's not let her loss be in vain.

I've been following Jessica Daniels' case since it happened, and it just tears me up to think about how her mother, Sanmarian, must replay that horrifying morning over and over again. I can't even imagine the nightmare of waking up to gunfire and realizing your child has been hit. It’s a pain I wouldn’t wish on anyone. The thought that a bullet intended for someone else could change a family's world so drastically is terrifying. I really hope that the reward being offered encourages someone to come forward with information. It’s time for the person responsible to be held accountable so Jessica’s family can start to find some measure of peace.
