I’ve been thinking about the superhuman courage Shakema must have had during those terrifying moments. It’s beyond words to imagine what she faced, trying to protect little Korri. Despite the chaos and danger, her instinct was to shield her child. That protective love speaks volumes about the kind of person she was—strong and selfless. It's deeply troubling that someone so kind and loving has been taken from the world so violently. I'm glad Korri survived, but the emotional scars for that little one and the family must be immense. How do people find the strength to move forward after such a loss? I hope they’re getting all the support they need from those around them. My heart goes out to everyone affected by this tragedy.

I was reading about Shakema Dickson's case and the more I think about it, the more I can't stop thinking about little Korri. Losing her mom like that is beyond tragic, and though she's still here with us, I can’t help but worry about the trauma she will carry. Shakema was a true hero, doing everything she could to protect her daughter. I hope Korri grows up knowing just how brave her mom was. Also, what makes this case even more unsettling is the realization of how vulnerable we all are to senseless acts of violence. Shakema was in her own home, a place that's supposed to be safe. My heart goes out to everyone who loved her and especially to Korri. Let's hope she has a strong support system around her.
