I've been thinking a lot about the impact this case has had on Rayshard Brooks' family. I can't imagine the pain they must feel, especially having to relive it over and over with the media coverage and legal proceedings. The $1 million settlement reached last November might offer some financial relief or sense of justice, but how do you ever truly measure the loss of a loved one? It's hard not to think about how his children will grow up without their father. Moments like this really make me wish for more effective ways to address issues of policing and community relations. It's vital for all sides to learn and grow from this tragedy. My heart goes out to everyone affected.

Attended a community meeting last night about the Rayshard Brooks case, and it was deeply moving. Listening to the concerns and emotions from those who knew him, and from other community members impacted by his story, really drove home the lingering pain and unresolved questions surrounding his death. It’s clear that this incident isn’t just about one event but about a systemic issue that affects so many, particularly in Black communities. The calls for justice and reform were strong and echoed by everyone present. It’s sobering to witness firsthand how cases like these extend beyond just the courtroom. My heart goes out to Rayshard's family and friends as they continue to navigate this ongoing struggle for accountability and change. Does anyone know if similar gatherings are happening in other cities? Would love to hear about how broader communities are engaging with these critical topics.
