I've been following the case of Felycya Harris and something that just breaks my heart is thinking about how her friends and family must feel every day. It's beyond tragic that her life was cut short in such a violent way. She should be here with us, continuing to bring joy to those who knew her. The community gatherings to honor her have been beautiful, but I can't help but think of the absence they must feel in their daily lives. I hope they can find some peace, knowing that people are fighting for justice in her memory. It's crucial that we keep raising awareness about violence against transgender individuals, not just in Augusta but everywhere. This has to stop, and we need to support each other in these times.
