Hey everyone, I'm new to this forum but felt compelled to join after reading about Helen Thompson's case. I couldn’t help but think about how the community might have played a role here. Shell Beach is such a tight-knit area, and it’s surprising that nobody seems to have spotted her that day. I grew up in a similar small town, and everyone knew each other’s business, especially when it came to routines. Has anyone thought about whether any local businesses might have had security cameras back then? Even in 2008, some places were starting to install basic security systems. I know it's a long shot, but maybe footage from that time could help reconstruct her path or potentially show someone she might have interacted with? Just throwing that out there in case it sparks any ideas or memories. Every little bit helps, right? Hoping for some breakthrough, no matter how small. ✨

I wanted to bring up an interesting observation regarding Helen Thompson's case. Has anyone noticed the significance of the area she was last seen in, near the ocean in the Shell Beach neighborhood? Being near the water must have been a familiar and comforting place for her, especially considering her daily routine route. I wonder if Helen's connection to this area led her to wander along unfamiliar paths closer to the coastline. With her love for the ocean and the known disorientation dementia causes, perhaps she continued to walk further than usual, ending up in a less frequented part of the beach or even near a hidden inlet. I'm curious if searches extended beyond her usual route, exploring more secluded spots she might have ended up in. Although no trace of hers has been found yet, it might be worth considering the unseen trails and paths along the coast, which could have been overlooked during search efforts. Does anyone local to Pismo Beach know of any hidden or less accessible areas that might be worth checking?
