Has anyone else been following the case of Warner Mandrel Parks and the other tragic events in Newnan? It really struck me how quickly Nicholas Martez Nelson's crime spree escalated. From starting with a home invasion to committing six murders in just three days - it's terrifying to think about. What's more disturbing is the random nature of it all. I can't imagine what Parks and the other victims' families are going through, having to grapple with such sudden and devastating loss. And then, to find out that Nelson's only explanation was long-term drug use? It leaves you with so many unanswered questions. How does someone go down that path, and what could have been done to prevent it? I hope the families find some measure of peace and that the community can come together in support. For those of us watching from afar, let's discuss how we can better identify and support those struggling, potentially preventing future tragedies like this.
