I've been following Sara Holtrop's case and just can't shake the feeling of loss her family and friends must be enduring. As someone deeply impacted by tragedy, I know words often fall short, but I still want to share my support for them. I've been thinking a lot about how aspiring to be a vet and considering the Air Force shows what a dedicated and multifaceted person Sara was. Animals and serving the country each take a unique kind of compassion and strength. It speaks volumes about her character and the bright future she would surely have had. Her ambitions tell us so much about what we've lost—a young woman who could have made significant contributions to both fields. I hope legal proceedings will somehow bring some sense of justice for Sara and allow the community to heal while remembering her in the vibrant way she seemed to live her life. Just knowing that the community gathered at Solid Rock Assembly to celebrate her life shows the impact she left behind. My thoughts are with them all.
