I've been thinking a lot about how Kevin Neal was such a bright light for everyone who knew him. It's been so moving to read stories from people who crossed paths with him. It seems like he always had a kind word or a smile for others. I grew up in a small town, and it reminds me of how one person really can have a big impact on their community. It's so hard to comprehend how something so terrible could happen to someone who seemed to spread so much positivity. I'm also really impressed by how the Neal family has handled this entire situation with such grace. Reaching out to the families of the accused shows incredible strength and compassion. It makes me wonder how we as a society can honor Kevin's memory and the love he shared, perhaps by finding ways to counteract violence and support each other more. Keeping his family and the entire Fort Valley community in my thoughts.
