I was reading about Charles Edward Canty's case from 2012 in Baltimore, and I just can't stop thinking about the community's response during that tough time. It's so evident how much local neighborhoods came together, trying to fight against the rising violence. While we often hear about the crime stats, I'm really moved by the grassroots efforts by community leaders and residents who have been tirelessly advocating for change, promoting peace rallies, and working to foster safer environments. It’s a harsh reminder of the systemic issues Baltimore has faced for years, but also a testament to the resilience and hope of those who continue to push for a better future. My heart goes out to Charles's family and all the others affected by such senseless tragedies. It must be unbelievably hard to find closure when there are still so many unanswered questions.
