I've been reflecting on how deeply ingrained biases and stereotypes can have real, tragic consequences in our society. The shootings that took Daoyou Feng's life, along with those of the other victims, have cast a harsh light on the fear and vulnerability felt by Asian communities, particularly women. Despite being so new to her job at Young’s Asian Massage, Daoyou was just trying to build her life like anyone else. It's important that we remember her not just as a victim, but as a person whose life mattered. The challenge now is to translate the outrage and grief of these events into meaningful change that ensures safety and respect for all communities. We stand with Daoyou’s family and friends, hoping they find strength and receive the support they need during this unimaginably difficult time.
