I've been thinking about how Peter Marvit's life was dedicated to research and community involvement, and it's so difficult to make sense of how such a bright light could be extinguished so senselessly. Returning from choir practice, something so ordinary and uplifting, to face such a grim fate seems incredibly unfair. It's upsetting to think about how this could happen just four blocks from his home, a place where he should have felt safe. The released images of those two men in the case have got me wondering—how have they not been caught yet? It's frustrating on many levels, not just from a justice perspective but also imagining how his family and friends must feel without closure. My thoughts are with all of them during this tough time.
