I've been following the Murray Scott case closely and can't stop thinking about the balloon release on Willow Street. It must have been both a beautiful and painful moment for everyone who knew him. I can only imagine the emotions running through his friends and family as they gathered to remember Murray and honor his life. Such gestures of remembrance really show how much a person means to their community, and how everyone just wants to show up and offer support however they can. Seeing the community come together like that after something so awful is a testament to the bonds they share. While nothing can undo what happened, moments like these can perhaps offer a little solace. It's just so vital that we keep talking about these incidents to push towards preventing future tragedies. My thoughts are with the Scott family and everyone affected.
