Having just spoken to the GBI agent in charge of this investigation to ensure there had been no developments I was unaware of, I can say that this was an extremely complicated case. On its face it initially appeared to involve foul play, but every lead was exhausted over many months and across several states.

There was a preponderance of evidence available despite the individual being found on a riverbank, and the conclusion of my investigation was that the cause of death was a GSW and the manner was suicide. This was also, and remains the conclusion of the GBI.

Thank you for your clarification. You have such an important and meaningful job. Thank you so much for what you do. I know it must sometimes be really hard. Not a job I think I would be able to handle. It takes a really special person to do it.

I was the Coroner on this case. This information provided here is incorrect and misleading. I have just joined and researched a few other of my cases (I had over 400 in total) and am bemused by the discrepancies between my notes, and the media reporting………

Does anyone else find it strange how Fitzjerold ended up all the way in Jekyll Creek? It’s such a remote and unexpected location, and it makes me wonder if he knew the area or was just passing through. From what I understand, he had only recently moved to Jacksonville, so it seems odd for him to be found in Georgia. My heart goes out to his family who must be desperate for answers. It must be incredibly painful not knowing how or why he ended up there. Hopefully, as more information comes in, we can get a clearer picture of what happened and help bring some peace to his loved ones. If anyone knows the area or has any insight, it might be worth sharing just in case it helps with the investigation.
Hey everyone,
I've been following the case of Fitzjerold Mickover Jean-Baptiste, and something that's been bothering me is the location where his body was found. Jekyll Creek isn't exactly a place you'd stumble across by accident, especially for someone who just moved to Florida. Was he taken there against his will, or is it possible he knew someone in the area? I can't help but wonder if there's more significance to Jekyll Creek than we're currently aware of.
Also, if anyone's familiar with that area, do you think there's a reason why someone might choose that spot to hide a crime? It's just so tragic that this young man, with so much life ahead of him, was found in such a manner. I hope the GBI is digging into any connections he might have had there. My thoughts are with his family during this unimaginably difficult time, and I truly hope for some answers soon. If anyone has any insights or thoughts, please share.
I've been following the case of Fitzjerold Mickover Jean-Baptiste pretty closely, and something that's been weighing on me is the impact on his family, especially since it seems like he was just starting a new chapter in his life by moving to Jacksonville. I can't help but think about the shock and pain they must be going through right now. It must be incredibly difficult to process such a loss when the details are so uncertain and justice seems so far off. It's unsettling that there haven't been any significant leads or arrests. I hope that someone who knows something will find the courage to speak up. It's crucial for his loved ones to have some sense of closure and peace. If anyone is in the area or heard anything unusual around the end of January and early February, even the smallest detail could be pivotal. Let's keep spreading awareness and supporting the efforts to bring Fitzjerold's family the justice they deserve.
