I came across this case while reading up on safety issues in public housing, and it’s so upsetting to see yet another young life lost under such tragic circumstances. Desaray Gilliard's story has really hit home for me. I can't help but wonder about the lack of security measures at Yamacraw Village. Why weren’t there any security personnel or functioning equipment in place? It's upsetting to think about how such negligence might have contributed to this tragedy. I sincerely hope the lawsuit her mother filed will push for some real changes. Is anyone here familiar with similar cases where a lawsuit led to better safety measures? It would be great to hear some success stories for these communities that desperately need them. My heart goes out to Desaray's family and friends who are enduring this unimaginable loss. I hope they find the answers they need soon.
